Strategic Advisor, University of Westminster 2006 – 2008

I was seconded onto a 2 year project by the Vice-Chancellor to work with PA Consulting in reviewing the University's Strategic Development Plan.

* Provided a 'dashboard' view of portfolio performance, including external benchmarking, for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In the light of findings, a series of recommendations were made.

* Reviewed non-core taught modules with fewer than 5 students with a view to closure.

* Recommended a number of improvements to data collection and reporting to make key performance indicators (KPIs) more accessible and usable eg with reference to targets, Blackboard and satisfaction.

* Recommended a number of ways in which the new course creation process, and specifically the First Filter Form, could be improved.

* Begun to inculcate a culture whereby KPIs form part of management planning and resource allocation in lieu of implementation of the Integrated Management Framework (or version thereof).

A very demanding role which touched at the very heart of how the University operated and made recommendations on the future of the University.
